What can I find in a typical issue of Writer’s Life Magazine?
Each issue of Writer’s Life Magazine provides advice and insider tips on writing and self publishing books. We will also feature independent authors, screen-writers, song-writers, literary organizations, up and coming illustrators, and we even have a small-business spotlight to highlight bloggers and those who offer services to authors.
Is it free to appear in Writer’s Life Magazine?
No! Writer’s Life Magazine exists through the support of advertisements, sponsorships and donations. All funds collected for advertisements go directly back into the publication to cover the cost of promotion of our featured authors.
Our current rates are as follows:
$100- one page magazine feature (with blog interview)
$175- two page magazine feature (with interview in magazine and on our blog)
$250- there pages, magian interview, blog interview, author featured on contents page of magazine.
$35- Blog interview only
$55 for book feature in magazine (bookshelf feature…7 available per issue…your book cover, book blurb and website featured…..authors name will not appear on front cover of magazine.)
$75 – Hungry Minds Book Club Review (and contest entry for one book)
$175- Hungry Minds Book Club Review/ Magazine Feature (include contest entry and blog interview ) *For children’s book authors only*

How much does it cost to participate in the Hungry Minds Book Awards?
A $200 fee will cover one Hungry Minds Book Club Review/ Magazine Feature (also includes contest entry and blog interview ) *For children’s book authors only*
A $75 entry fee will cover the cost of entry into the contest, and a review of your book on The Hungry Minds Book review blog.

Can I submit an article to Writer’s Life Magazine?
We appreciate your interest in writing for Writer’s Life Magazine. We are expanding our team and are accepting contributing writers and photographers. If you are interested please contact us by email at
We do our best to respond to all inquiries, but be aware that we are sometimes inundated. If your writing sample(s) meets our requirements, a member of our staff will contact you. Allow at least two months for a response. If you have not heard back from us within this period, then please assume that we will not be able to use your idea or submission at this time.
Who can submit an article to Writers’ Life?
Writer’s Life publishes the work of emerging and established authors and writers.
What type of writing material can I submit to Writers’ Life Magazine?
Writer’s Life welcomes and encourages your contributions of articles, news, and advice on the writing life. We are most interested in instructional features from authors on the craft of writing and self-publishing, as well as author success stories.
Will I get paid for my article submission?
We do not pay for articles, but we do give credit to our contributing writers by listing your name with your article submission. You may also include a brief bio, photo, and links to your own work.
What are the submission guidelines for an article?
Articles must be original, edited, unpublished (including the internet) and no longer than 800 words, unless it is specifically requested by the Editor. We reserve the right to edit your article for space and clarity. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for a full list of submission guidelines.
Do you offer book reviews in Writer’s Life Magazine?
Yes!!! However, we currently only offer reviews of children’s books. A hard copy of your children’s book must be sent to FYD Publishing, P.O. Box 81 East Schodack NY 12063 (Books will not be returned-please provide us with tracking information via email.). Your book cover image and purchase links will be included on the children’s blog. You will also receive a half page feature in Writer’s Life Magazine. This review service also includes promotion of your book on all of our social media platforms as well as permanent book review listed on “Hungry Minds Book Reviews” blog. ($75)
Hungry Minds is a book club with children ranging in age from 7-16 years old. All proceeds from review sales will be used to purchase books or fund reading events for the children of Hungry Minds book club. We will try to post photos of the children with copies of the books they have reviewed once the issue in which the review is featured in has been released.
All books reviewed will be entered into the Hungry Minds Book Award competition. Please visit the official website for full contest details.
When should I submit my article?
The deadline for each issue is one month prior to the issue date. However, it won’t hurt to
inquire as, we still may be able to squeeze your submission into the latest edition of Writer’s Life Magazine.

What type of genres do you highlight?
We showcase the work and talent of all authors from urban novels to children’s books. We want to cover all aspects of the literary world.
Will I retain the rights to my article submission, and will it be altered in any way?
You will be given credit for your article submission if it is used in Writer’s Life Magazine. If you frequently submit articles, please contact us about how you can become a contributing writer. We reserve the right to edit all submissions before being published. All contributors give permission to publish their articles and declare they are the sole author of their articles. We are not responsible and are held harmless for their viewpoints.
Can I advertise an indie business that does not have anything to do with literature in the shop indie section of Writer’s Life Magazine?
